THE JOURNEY TO LEADERSHIP

The moment I knew I was selected to become the Organising Chairman of this family day, I did not take it that serious until I found out I have overlooked a lot of essential parts on way to our site.

I failed to maintain a good and proper communication with my committees. Unclear rules, time delays, insufficient props and etc. We were in a big mess when running the activities. Luckily, we managed to amend it with the guidance of mentors before it becomes worse.

I have learned to delegate my tasks and stand outside to look at the big picture and only do the "bug fix" when my team is at lost. Such move not only reduces my burden and stress of being a leader but also gives me a good chance to learn how to find out the way that our team should go and how we can get to it.

I failed to have a good control on the flow of time and always let it leads me by the nose. Spending my days with those inspiring mentors who are all big men in their fields makes me understands the importance of time and the techniques to have it under control in my hands.

I am looking forward to the second outing which I can take that as a chance to practice my learning and add on more lines to connect my dots of experience to the final destination - LEADERSHIP.
